A5-165 1165 Status card says identity was A5-1165, but photographs show it as A5-165.
Delivered 19/02/64 to Edinburgh SA.
To 1 ATU 10/04/64.
To WRE 12/04/67.
To Dept of Supply as VH-UPN - Civil registrations were applied August/September 1967, operated under contract by Short Bros & Harland Air Services based at No. 1 Hanger Woomera air field.
Sold to Roberts Aircraft Inc of Arizona as N605RA.

After 15 years they each had about 2600 flight hours logged.
Whilst fire fighting on 27/08/98 N605RA had a bambi bucket on a 100-foot-long line.
The bucket became entangled in some trees and the line snapped and wrapped itself around the tail rotor. The tail rotor blades and gearbox separated from the aircraft and the helicopter spun to the ground and rolled down a steep slope. The pilot did not report any mechanical malfunction with the aircraft prior to the accident. Wire marks were found on the tail rotor blades and around the output shaft.

Delivered 07/02/64 to Edinburgh SA.
To 1 ATU 10/04/64.
Required repairs at Marseilles in France, engine removed and sent 30/06/65 and returned to 1 ATU 09/05/66.
This aircraft could not be operated with a 'Sling Load'.
To WRE 12/04/67.
Then to Dept of Supply as VH-UPO.
Civil registrations were applied August/September 1967, operated under contract by Short Bros & Harland Air Services based at No. 1 Hanger Woomera air field.
N608RA,
Sold to Roberts Aircraft Inc of Arizona as N608RM.
After 15 years they each had about 2600 flight hours logged.
Operated by Rocky Mountain Helicopters as N608RM and used by the Stanford Life Flight.
US registration cancelled 30/11/88
5N-AKJ,
To Chile as CC-CJD and then CC-CMG. (Alouette C/N 2204 also reported as CC-CMG)
It was destroyed in a non-fatal incident on 9/08/2009

Then to Dept of Supply as VH-UPP Civil registrations were applied August/September 1967, operated under contract by Short Bros & Harland Air Services based at No. 1 Hanger Woomera air field.
Sold to Roberts Aircraft Inc of Arizona as N607RA.
After 15 years they each had about 2600 flight hours logged.
Became N607RM operated by Rocky Mountain Helicopters and was the first aircraft used by the Stanford Life Flight program c. 1987.
US registration cancelled 22/05/2007
