A46-1 CA-12 824 07/42 served with 2 OTU; Boomerang prototype;
on 29/5/42 it began flight testing by test pilot Ken Frewin and RAAF test pilot John Harper;
on 15/7/42 received by 1 AD from CAC and this exchange between the two continued throughout 1942 and early 1943;
in July 1942 used in comparison fighter tests with a P-40E (A29-129) a Buffalo (A51-6) and a P-400 (BW127) with the Buffalo during these tests loaded so that it approximated the flight characteristics of a Zeke and it was found that although the Boomerang was faster it was out manoeuvred by the Buffalo as well as in diving and zooming;
on 7/2/43 received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 30/11/43 received by CFS from 2 OTU;
on 10/8/44 received by SAC from CFS;
on 5/3/46 issued to 6 AD for storage;
on 21/3/46 it crash landed at Oakey strip Qld causing extensive damage that it was recommended for conversion;
on 13/5/46 it was authorised for write off and so this unique prototype was lost.

A46-2 CA-12 825 08/42 served with 2 OTU and 8 OTU;
on 17/8/42 received by 1 AD from CAC where it sat out 1942 completing tests and awaiting delivery;
on 16/5/43 received by 2 OTU;
on 31/10/44 received by 8 OTU and from there went to 7 AD on 5/8/45;
on 14/10/45 received at 7 CRD then allotted to CMU at Tocumwal, NSW for storage;
on 14/6/46 approval was given to convert to components.
A46-3 CA-12 826 10/42 served with 2 OTU and 8 OTU;
on 12/10/42 received at 2 OTU;
on 17/12/42 its prop hit the tailplane of another aircraft [Boomerang?] causing only minor damage;
on 29/11/43 it was transferred from 2 OTU to CGS, then on 9/2/44 it was sent back to 2 OTU from CGS;
on 31/10/44 it was sent to 8 OTU from 2 OTU;
on 5/8/45 it was received by 7 AD then on the 29th of that month sent to 7 CRD for storage;
on 14/6/46 approval was given to convert to components;

A46-4 CA-12 827 09/42 it arrived at 1 AD from CAC on 21/9/42 and spent all of 1942 there and into early 1943;
on 7/4/43 it was received at SDF;
on 9/7/43 it crashed through a stone wall at Laverton Vic by F/L Alfred John Williams (260538) and from there was sent to 7 AD;
on 27/41/43 it was converted to components.
A46-5 CA-12 828 10/42 served with 2 OTU;
on 12/10/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 10/1/43 towards the end of the landing run at the Mildura Strip it ran into a building causing extensive damage to the cowl starboard wing and oleo legs;
on 15/2/43 it was received by 5 AD from 2 OTU and was to be sent to the SAC towards the end of 1943 but this cancelled;
on 13/4/44 approval to convert to components was given;
on 1/6/44 it was issued to 2 CRD at Richmond NSW from 5 AD presumably for conversion;
the fuselage frame was located on a dump at Tocumwal by Greg Batts and given to the Museum at Dandenong Vic.
A46-6 CA-12 829 10/42 served with 2 OTU and 1 OTU;
on 19/10/42 it was received at 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 4/2/43 it ground looped when the port brake jammed;
on 17/2/43 it started to ground loop to the right and it was corrected but ran off the strip heading for some pipes and was braked heavily causing damage;
on 9/11/43 it was received at 1 OTU;
on 8/1/44 it was sent to 1 AD for storage and was to be allocated back to 2 OTU the next month but this was cancelled;
on 13/6/44 it was issued to 1 ES as an instructional airframe and it was approved for conversion on 17/7/44.
A46-7 CA-12 830 10/42 served with 2 OTU and 8 OTU;
on 28/10/42 it was received at 2 OTU;
on 17/12/42 it was involved in a taxiing accident while at 2 OTU;
on 1/6/43 it was involved in another accident [a belly landing?] and was sent to 7 AD for repairs;
on 26/4/45 it was received by 8 OTU;
on 6/6/45 while involved in a gunnery practice exercise it crashed some 7 miles (12 kms) NE of Parkes airstrip and burnt out.
A46-8 CA-12 831 10/42 served with 2 OTU and 1 OTU;
on 5/11/42 it was received by 2 OTU and and was coded with a large "8" aft of roundel while with them;
on 9/11/43 it was received by 1 OTU but was only there a short time before being put into storage at 1 AD on 11/1/44;
on 13/6/44 it was issued to 1 ES for use as an instructional airframe;
on 1/4/46 it was offered for disposal.
A46-9 CA-12 832 10/42 served with 2 OTU and 8 OTU;
on 2/11/42 it was received by 2 OTU and had large "9" aft of roundel while with them;
on 8/10/43 it was received by 7 AD for an engine change and returned to 2 OTU on 15/5/44;
on 31/10/44 it was received by 8 OTU from 2 OTU;
on 25/4/45 it caught fire and exploded.
A46-10 CA-12 833 11/42 served with 2 OTU, 1 OTU and 8 OTU;
on 8/11/42 it was received by 2 OTU and was coded with large "10" aft of roundel while with them;
on 9/11/43 it was received by 1 OTU and coded "D" while with them;
on 17/12/43 it was involved in a belly landing due to the failure of the u/c to lower;
on 21/5/44 it was received back at 2 OTU;
on 11/9/44 it ground looped after landing;
on 16/2/45 it was received by 8 OTU but within a few days was issued to 6 AD for storage and received by them on 4/3/45;
on 13/5/46 it was authorised for write off;
the forward fuselage frame of this a/c is in storage with Matt Denning.
A46-11 CA-12 834 11/42 served with 2 OTU and CFS;
on 9/11/42 it was received by 2 OTU and had large "11" (believed in yellow) aft of the roundel;
on 31/12/42 it ground looped after landing;
on 29/11/43 it was received by CFS from 2 OTU;
on 8/2/46 it was transferred to Point Cook from CFS for disposal,
on 18/12/47 it was granted free issue to the Lord Mayor's camp at Portsea;
on 15/12/48 it was received back at the DAP Pt Cook from Portsea;
on 20/8/51 sold to H Chrisfield for 7 pound 10 shillings ($15).
A46-12 CA-12 835 11/42 served with 2 OTU;
on 16/5/43 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 21/10/43 it was received by SAC from 2 OTU;
on 6/7/44 it was involved in a crash landing at Canberra, ACT;
on 2/3/45 it was received at 2 CRD to be converted to components and approval was officially given on 23/5/45.
A46-13 CA-12 836 11/42 served with 2 OTU; on 11/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU and coded with a large "13" aft of roundel while with them;
on 15/8/43 it was involved in an accident causing damage to the the port wing, forward fuselage, u/c and tailplane;
on 5/9/43 it was received by CGS; on 12/10/43 it was involved in another accident a forced landing at Cressy Vic;
on 26/11/43 approval was given to convert to components.
A46-14 CA-12 837 11/42 served with 2 OTU;
on 25/11/42 it was received by 2 OTU and coded with a large "14" aft of roundel while with them;
on 12/2/43 it ground looped at the end of its landing run;
on 5/9/43 it was received by CGS having an allocation to 83 Sqn cancelled;
on 3/1/44 it was received back at 2 OTU;
on 1/6/44 it was involved in a mid-air collision with A46-44 over Cullulleraine, Vic some 30 miles (50 kms) west of Mildura killing F/O Roger Byrne (419791) with the a/c destroyed by fired.
A46-15 CA-12 838 12/42 served with 2 OTU and 83 Sqn;
on 14/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 20/12/42 it ground looped on Mildura strip;
on 10/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn and coded MH-M with them;
on 22/4/43 it crashed at Strathpine strip when turning on landing it hit a tree on the side of the strip;
on 12/11/44 it was sent back to 83 Sqn;
on 18/9/45 it was received at 7 AD from 83 Sqn for storage;
by 17/2/53 it was to be sold to American Aeronautics Corp in California USA without its engine,
over a year later was still being held until on 2/8/55 it was sold to R.H. Grant Trading Co. for scrap.

A46-16 CA-12 839 12/42 served with 2 OTU;
on 14/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 18?/2/43 it was involved in a minor accident and sent to 7 AD for repairs;
on 18/12/43 it was issued to 1 Engineering School as an instructional aircraft;
on 7/2/44 approval was given to convert to comps but by 1/4/46 this appears not to have happened as it was offered to CDC for disposal;
on 26/11/47 it was sent to DAP to convert but this wasn't done for over another year;
on 8/2/49 it was finally converted and struck off charge.
A46-17 CA-12 840 12/42 served with 2 OTU, 83 Sqn and 8 OTU;
on 14/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 3/1/43 it ground looped while taxiing at 2 OTU;
on 15/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn and ground looped that day while landing at the Strathpine strip;
on 25/5/44 it was issued back to 2 OTU;
3 days later on 28/5/44 it crash landed at Broadmeadows with extensive damage sustained;
on 24/9/44 it was again sent to 2 OTU;
on 31/10/44 it was received by 8 OTU;
on 29/5/45 it was involved in a mid-air collision with A46-82 near the gunnery range Parkes NSW while on a reconnaissance flight with both P/O Charles Neil Weatherson (431676) and P/O William Ernest Lyall Foster (264486) being killed and it crashed 10 miles NE Parkes and was destroyed by fire.
A46-18 CA-12 841 12/42 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 14/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 15/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn at Strathpine, Qld and so was one of the original Boomerangs with that Sqn but it was short lived;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn to replace their aging Buffalos;
on 1/1/44 while landing it swung off the strip and ploughed into the bush, so it was sent to 4 AD for conversion;
on 19/6/44 it was converted to components.
A46-19 CA-12 842 12/42 served with 2 OTU and 83 Sqn;
on 24/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 10?/4/43 while with them it was involved in an accident causing a good deal of damage to the forward section of the a/c;
on 2/9/43 it was received by 83 Sqn;
on 4/12/43 it was involved in a crash landing [at Strathpine strip?] when the pilot [who?] attempted to correct a swing to starboard and ran into rough ground;
it was sent to 3 AD for repairs,
then on 26/5/44 was allocated to 3 CRD for conversion;
on 19/6/44 approval to convert to components was given.
A46-20 CA-12 843 12/42 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 24/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 10/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn at Strathpine, Qld;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 83 Sqn to replace the former's Buffalos;
on 14/3/44 it was received at 17 RSU for repairs [accident?];
on 23/3/44 it was issued back to 85 Sqn where it continued with them going to 4 AD for an inspection and returning for the remainder of 1944;
on 21/3/45 it was re-issued to 83 Sqn; on 18/9/45 it was sent to 7 AD for storage;
on 17/2/53 its engine was sold to American Aeronautics Corp for $91,
it appears that the airframe was sold to R.H. Grant Trading Co. for scrap around 2/3/55.
A46-21 CA-12 844 12/42 served with 2 OTU;
on 24/12/42 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 11/3/43 while on a training flight when the port fuel tank emptied the pilot [who?] switched to the other tank but the engine failed and he was forced to land the aircraft;
it was sent to 7 AD for repairs and from there went to SAC on 14/10/43;
on 3/11/44 while landing at the Canberra strip ACT the starboard undercarriage failed causing damage to the aircraft fuselage, prop and the wing;
on 26/10/45 it was allocated to 6 AD for storage but this was cancelled and instead it went to 2 AD on 21/5/46 for storage;
on 13/5/46 it was authorised for write off.
A46-22 CA-12 845 12/42 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 14/1/43 it was received by 2 OTU;
on 15/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn at Strathpine Qld;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 83 Sqn to replace the former's aging Buffalos;
on 2/10/43 while with 85 Sqn it crashed at Guildford WA killing F/Sgt Archie Harold Duncan McDonald (420031) and was destroyed in the following fire.
A46-23 CA-12 846 12/42 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 84 Sqns and 8 OTU;
on 14/1/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 19/1/43 it was involved in an accident when it hit a Kittyhawk A29-82 when Sgt Clement James Joseph Hart (420665) was landing it;
on 10/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn from 2 OTU but like many before it only stayed a few weeks before being sent to 84 Sqn and believed coded MH-P with 83 Sqn;
on 23/9/43 it was involved in a landing accident at Horn Is strip while with 84 Sqn and piloted by Sgt Keith Leslie Hayes (418409);
on 3/1/45 it was received by 8 OTU from 1 RSU where it had been since the accident with 84 Sqn;
on 25/3/45 while piloted by it overshot the runway at Parkes on landing so F/O Alan Lorimer Capell (427868) retracted the undercarriage and it made a belly landing at the end of the strip;
on 25/7/45 it was considered operationally suitable and had reasonably low hours and was received back at 83 Sqn;
on 18/9/45 it was received by 7 AD for storage;
on 2/3/55 it was sold to R H Grant Trading Co. less engine for $91.
A46-24 CA-12 847 12/42 served with 2 OTU and 84 Sqn;
on 4/1/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 17/3/43 it was received by 84 Sqn;
on 16/5/43 it was involved in a landing accident at Horn Is? that damaged the prop, the port undercarriage and port wing [pilot];
on 20/6/43 it was received back at 84 Sqn;
on 3/8/43 
, crashed into tress after hitting the water (Jardine River) when practicing shadow shooting and was written off with only the airframe being salvaged

A46-25 CA-12 848 01/43 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 24/2/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 15/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn at Strathpine and is believed to have been coded 'X' with them;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 83 Sqn;
on 19/5/43 it's prop was damaged in a taxiing accident at Guildford;
on 3/7/43 it was involved in a low flying accident while with 85 Sqn and it sat around at Guildford, WA for the rest of 1943 and 1944;
on 26/1/45 it was finally received at 4 AD at Boulder WA;
on 25/3/45 it was received back by 83 Sqn at Menangle, NSW;
on 4/7/45 it had notched up around 720 hrs on its engine and was due for replacement, so was to be allocated to an Air Depot;
on 17/7/45 it was received by 6 AD at Oakey, Qld but it doesn't appear the engine was changed but was just stored there;
on 13/5/46 it was authorised for write off but it was only stripped of parts;
The remains (mainly just the fuselage) were owned by Hawker De Havilland in Victoria and the fuselage is on display Moorabbin Air Museum.

A46-26 CA-12 849 05/43 served with 85 and 83 Sqns;
on 20/6/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 17 RSU;
on 16/7/43 it sustained minor damage to the starboard wing tip when Sgt Jones (in A46-97) taxied into it at Guildford WA;
on 29/10/43 it was involved in a landing accident which caused damage to the fuselage and engine;
on 11/2/44 it was received back at 85 Sqn from 17 RSU and was sent for an engine change in August of that year;
on 19/3/45 it was issued to 83 Sqn;
on 3/8/45 it ran off Menangle strip after a normal landing and collapsed the starboard u/c causing damage to the starboard wing [pilot?];
on 18/9/45 it was received by 7 AD essentially for storage and possible repair and it was still there in July 1951;
it was to be sold to American Aeronautics Corp in Feb 1953 less its engine but this wasn't completed and so was eventually sold to R H Grant Trading Co. on 2/3/55.
A46-27 CA-12 850 07/43 served with 2 and 8 OTU and CGS;
on 28/7/43 it was received by SDF from 1 AD for carbon monoxide tests and so only remained for a short period before going back to CAC for some modifications on 9/9/43 only to be returned to SDF on 11/10/43;
on 7/11/43 it was received by CGS; on 3/1/44 it was received by 2 OTU from CGS;
on 31/3/44 during take-off it blew its tail wheel and as a consequence on landing it ground looped [pilot?];
on 31/10/44 it was received by 8 OTU from 2 OTU;
on 2/4/45 it was received by 5 AC from 8 OTU;
on 28/7/45 it was involved in a towing accident at Fairbairn strip and the repairs were beyond the capacity of the unit;
it was made flyable again by using parts from A46-51 so that it could be ferried to 6 AD and was ready by 11/8/45;
on 18/8/45 it was allocated to 7 AD instead with the Wasp engine to be inspected to see if it was suitable for further use;
by 1/10/46 it was to be stored at Tocumwal, NSW;
it was to be sold to American Aeronautics Corp in Feb 1953 less its engine but this wasn't completed and so was eventually sold to R H Grant Trading Co. on 2/3/55.
A46-28 CA-12 851 01/43 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 7/2/42 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 15/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn from 2 OTU but was only with 83 Sqn for a very short time;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn at Guildford WA from 83 Sqn;
on 26/5/43 it was damaged [cause?] and it was beyond the capability of the unit, so it went to 17 RSU returning to 85 Sqn early in Sept 1943;
on 9/9/43 it made a forced landing due to a fuel shortage [pilot?];
on 11/11/43 it was involved in a night landing accident at Guildford and sent to 4 AD for repairs;
on 14/6/44 it was returned to 85 Sqn;
on 25/3/45 it was received back at 83 Sqn at Menangle NSW;
on 10/8/45 while on a Navy co-operation flight it developed engine trouble and forced landing in the sea about 100 yards off shore 1 mile (1.6km) from South Black Head, NSW from where it was salvaged;
on 6/9/45 approval was given to convert to components.
A46-29 CA-12 852 02/43 served with 2 OTU and 83 Sqn;
on 7/2/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 23/2/43 it was forced to land due to engine failure while at 2 OTU [pilot?];
it was sent to 5 AD for repairs and while there was allocated successively to 84 Sqn, 2 OTU and eventually to 83 Sqn, all the while sitting it out at 5 AD;
on 19/10/44 it was finally received by 83 Sqn from 5 AD;
on 18/9/45 it went back to 7 AD for storage with items like armament being removed before storage;
on 17/2/53 it was to be sold less its engine to American Aeronautics Corp but this fell through and it was eventually sold to R H Grant Trading Co. on 2/3/55.
A46-30 CA-12 853 03/43 served with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Sqns;
on 12/2/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 10/4/43 it was received by 83 Sqn at Strathpine, Qld but its stay like many others at that time was very short;
on 30/4/43 it was received by 85 Sqn at Guildford, WA from 83 Sqn;
on 23/11/43 it was received by 17 RSU for its 240 hourly check, returning to 85 Sqn on 26/12/43;
on 5/7/44 it made a forced landing due to the port gun enclosure becoming loose or coming off during a non-operational flight and it went to 17 RSU for repairs returning to the Sqn on 9/9/44;
on 14/12/44 it was issued to 4 AD for further repairs and from there went to 4 ADRP until allocated to 83 Sqn;
on 21/3/45 it was received back by 83 Sqn;
on 17/10/45 it was issued to SHQ at Richmond, NSW to be used in the Kingsford Smith film "Smithy" in 1946 this undoubtedly saved it from the scrap heap and during this film it was 'dressed up' as Smithy's Lockheed Altair "Lady Southern Cross" (VH-USB);
on 28/8/46 it was authorised as a free issue to Australian Air League at Pitt St, Sydney;
after that it sat derelict for some 18 years part of that time at Blacktown, NSW until refurbished and painted silver and displayed at Williamtown, NSW around January 1967,
sometime after that it was displayed at the Australian War Memorial and fortunately is now on display at RAAF Museum Point Cook in a more representative colour scheme that it wore with 85 Sqn as SH-B.

A46-31 CA-12 854 02/43 served with 85 Sqn;
on 4/6/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 17 RSURP;
on 22/09/43 it crashed at Guildford? WA [pilot?] and only the engine and part of the airframe were considered salvageable so it was converted.
A46-32 CA-12 855 02/43 served with 84, 5 Sqns, 2 and 8 OTU;
on 11/3/43 it was received by 84 Sqn from 1 AD and was on detachment with 86 Sqn while serving with 84 Sqn in Sept 1943;
on 24/10/43 it was received by 5 Sqn from 84 Sqn and coded BF-A with the former;
on 9/11/43 it ground looped while landing at Mareeba strip Qld [pilot?];
on 4/10/44 it was received at 2 OTU from 13 ARD but it stay there was short;
on 31/10/44 it was received at 8 OTU from 2 OTU;
on 7/12/44 it was involved in a mid-air collision with A46-36 while both were carrying out section combat exercises near Parkes NSW with F/O Harry John Kidd (20531) being thrown clear of his a/c and parachuted to safety while P/O Arthur Watkins (435058) was seen to exit his burning Boomerang with his parachute and clothes on fire and was subsequently killed.
A46-33 CA-12 856 02/43 served with 2 OTU, 85 and 83 Sqns;
on 12/2/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 3/6/43 while being ferried to 85 Sqn it made a forced landing with its wheels up due to running out of fuel after becoming lost [pilot?];
on 22/12/43 it was allocated back to 85 Sqn from 4 AD where it had been for repairs;
on 23/12/43 it carried out a forced landing at Cunderdin strip WA [pilot?] and was again sent to 4 AD for repairs;
on 1/5/44 it was received back at 85 Sqn from 4 AD;
on 27/1/45 it was received at 4 AD from 85 Sqn for inspection and some repairs;
on 25/3/45 it was received by 83 Sqn from 4 AD;
on 18/9/45 it was received at 7 AD from 83 Sqn for storage and stayed on at Tocumwal when 7 AD changed to CMU;
on 2/8/55 it was sold to R H Grant Trading Company less its engine after the sale to American Aeronautics Corp. fell through in 1953.
A46-34 CA-12 857 02/43 served with 2 OTU and 85 Sqn;
on 12/2/43 it was received by 2 OTU from 1 AD;
on 4/6/43 it was received by 85 Sqn from 17 RSURP where it had been since May;
on 21/8/43 it carried out a forced landing in sea off WA coast but was salvaged and sent to 4 AD;
on 22/11/43 approval was given to convert to components.
A46-35 CA-12 858 02/43 served with 84 and 5 Sqns;
on 11/3/43 it was received by 84 Sqn from 1 AD;
on 30/9/43 it was received back at 84 Sqn from 1 RSU where it had gone for a wing and engine overhaul in August
however 84 Sqn was now re-equipping with Kittyhawks and it stay was brief;
on 24/10/43 it was received by 5 Sqn from 84 Sqn and it was coded BF-B while with 5 Sqn at Mareeba Qld;
on 9/11/43 it ground looped while landing at Mareeba Qld [pilot?];
on 21/8/44 approval was given to convert to components.

Clive Hollingworth Winnett (418238) of 85 Sqn got hit by a gust of wind as he crossed the North Pine creek at the end of the Strathpine strip and it swung the aircraft around and sent him off the strip into the trees causing extensive outer wing damage requiring new ones; sold R H Grant Trading Company 03/55.

on 5/7/43 P/O James Keith Collier (407114) sighted the US force landing at Nassau Bay NG and dove down to inspect but at 200' he came under fire from US forces and was hit, he banked then hit the water about 50' from shore, skidded across water and ran up the beach into undergrowth and was killed, this was the first Boomerang lost on operations.

on 26/11/43 it was one of two Boomerangs on a tactical reconnaissance when they were last seen by the fighter escort from 41st FS engaged in combat by 7 enemy fighters near Sanga River (in Finschhafen area) with pilot F/Sgt Alan John Salter (414841) believed KIA as neither the pilot or Boomerang were found in post-war searches (cf A46-132);
after the war S/L Rundle was unable to determine the place of Sanga River and believed it could be the Musa or Songade Rivers and makes reference to another river called Banga which is north of Finschhafen and this confusion has obviously led to the failure to locate the aircraft.

on 12/6/44 after normal landing at Cape Gloucester strip New Britain the aircraft swung violently to port and struck bank with F/O Jeffrey Duncan Cameron (6074) being ok;

extensive searches after the war failed to find any trace of F/O Paxton.

on 28/4/44 at the end of its landing run at Mareeba strip it swung violently to the left and P/O John Francis McDavitt (428432) couldn't correct so he applied left brake to ground loop to avoid crashing into trees;
converted to components 9/44.
A46-128 CA-13 951 08/43 went to SDF for carbon monoxide tests 27/8/43
served with 5 and 84 Sqn; coded BF-N with "U Beaut II" on the cowl with a man in a tux riding on a broom while with 5 Sqn and usually the a/c of S/L Cook;
on 12/3/45 S/L Nornam Steed Parry (291972) AFC of 5 Sqn made a heavy landing at Piva North strip causing the starboard tyre to burst swinging the aircraft to left heading for the Duty Pilot's tower, so to avoid collision he lifted aircraft off ground but didn't have enough speed and fell back to ground collapsing undercarriage and striking the starboard wing causing the aircraft to cartwheel; converted to components 4/45.
Fuselage now with Kent Lee NSW for restoration to airworthy.

on 10/11/44 it was forced landed by S/L Hilson Christopher Newton Daly (260354) on a beach 7 miles north of Rockingham WA due to an electrical fire behind altimeter in flight after a practice interception;
converted to components.

A46-136 CA-13 959 09/43 served with 4 Sqn;
on 15/11/43 it was flying back to base when a USAAF P-38 Lightning piloted by Lt Gerald R Johnson of 9 FS (who became the 5th Air Force's 4th highest scoring ace with 22 victories) fired a burst into the port side hitting mainplane and port tailplane with the aircraft lurching to starboard and lost height finally recovering at 500ft but with the port mainplane on fire and cannon ammunition exploding it was traveling too fast to land so F/O Robert McColl Stewart (408505) lifted the a/c over the river at the strip end belly landed into scrub whereupon it burst into flames and was totally destroyed and all this happened even though it was accompanied by A46-132 and two P-40s;
it was converted to components and Lt Johnson had an Australian flag painted on the nose of his P-38 along with his Japanese victories.

on 20/11/43 A46-100 ran into the tail of this aircraft while landing at Melville with F/L Richard Tweedy Holt (404103) being ok;
on 24/5/44 while landing at Millingimbi NT the aircraft developed swing to starboard which P/O Frank Ernest Guymer (418396) 83 Sqn
tried to correct by applying the brake but it went flat causing a ground loop violently collapsing the undercarriage and causing extensive damage;
the remains were recovered by Charles Darby in 1974 and are now located at the Kermit Weeks Air Museum in Florida.

first flight 13/1/43;
received by S.D.F. from CAC on 17/4/43;
ground looped on landing 27/5/43 and returned to CAC for repairs;
received at 1 AD from CAC 4/6/44 after conversion to CA-14a (see A46-103 for its involvement in this project);
allocated to 1 APU for trials and tests with the turbo-supercharger;
after the war this aircraft did some work for the Meteorological Bureau taking high altitude weather observations;
stored until 11/3/49 then issued to DAP, struck off charge on that date.
