Ordered 1925. On 6 February 1926 was Christened by Dame Mary Cook at Southampton, England. It was shipped to Australia in the SS NICHOLSON . On 26 June 1926 it made its first flight in Australia piloted by Flight Lieutenant J. E. Hewitt, RAAF. On 23 August now with 101 Flight was flown by Flight Lieutenant Hemphill, RAF to Bowen, Queensland to take part in the survey of the Great Barrier Reef. The survey for this period was completed on 18 March 1927 and A9-1 flew back to RAAF Base Richmond. 29 January 1934 embarked in HMAS AUSTRALIA. Converted to components 31/07/34.

Ordered 1925. It was shipped to Australia in the SS NICHOLSON. 19 March 1930 crewed by pilot, pilot officer Gordon grant, RAAF , Observer LT Elliot, RN and Leading TAG Donald McGowan, RAN flying from HMAS ALBATROSS entered a spin and crashed while spotting during a Gunnery Shoot. The pilot and the observer were injured and the TAG Donald McGowan was killed who was our first naval aviator to die in an air accident. The aircraft was written off.

Ordered 1925. It was shipped to Australia in SS MALDARIA. Formed Part of the Papuan Survey Flight at 1 AD Laverton on 2 August 1927. The flight departed Point Cook on 27 September coastal to Thursday Island arriving at Daru on 15 October. Survey completed on 2 December. 2 March 1935 flew from Point Cook to Richmond . 12 July embarked in HMAS CANBERRA taking part in the spring cruise. Last Seagull in Service, to Melbourne Technical College.

Ordered 1925. It was shipped to Australia in SS MALDARIA. 3 April 1934 embarked in HMAS AUSTRALIA disembarking on the 8th and re-embarking on 24 April. On 26th forced Landing after engine trouble on take off in Port Jackson. Disembarked to RAAF Richmond on 9 May. 11 July embarked in HMAS AUSTRALIA . 24 August 1934 wrecked in a severe gale during passage from Devonport to Bunbury when the ring bolt securing the aircraft to the catapult platform failed.

Ex Royal Air Force Aircraft, Ordered 02/27. 13 November 1934 flew from Point Cook to RAAF Richmond via Junee and Golburn on transfer from No1 Flying Training flight to 101 Flight . 2 February 1935 embarked in HMAS CANBERRA disembarking in 23 February but back in board on 2 March. 5 April 1935 wrecked while lashed down on catapult platform during a gale. Wreckage returned to RAAF Richmond on 18 April. Aircraft written off on 30 June 1935. Transferred to East Sydney Technical College - 14/10/35.
