Pel-Air Aviation has been providing jet aircraft services in support of ADF training since 1996
On 1.10.2011 they were awarded a further 3 year contract worth A$47million.
Their main use was RAN fleet support. It was provided by a number of Gates Learjet and IAI Westwind jet aircraft.
The Westwind aircraft lack the underwing hard points, target towing equipment and
electronic warfare training pods of the Learjets
They were used to check for civilian traffic during live fire exercises and for simulated missile and aircraft attack against RAN ships.
It is not known exactly which of the listed aircraft were being used at any particular time although evidence shows most have been used.
They appear to be rotated around their ADF duties and Pel-Air's other business activities including charter, ambulance and freight services.
When being used for RAN Fleet Support they were usually based at Nowra however operated out of other airports and RAAF/ADF bases as needed.

 On
9.09.2015 the Jet Air Support contract was awarded to Air Affairs Australia, therefore the current status of Pel-Air's jets is unknown.
As of 10.2015 the fleet of Westwind 1124s are parked at Wagga airport.
