Civil registration cancelled on 2 December 1947.
Possibly traded back to the RNZAF for NZ4104.
Returned to RNZAF 09 February 1951.

Declared surplus 03 November 1954.

Made it's last flight on 31 March 1949.
Returned to RNZAF 09 February 1951.
Offered for sale by GSB Tender number 4365 on 28 May 1951 but unsold.
Offered for sale under GSB tender number 5625 on 23 November 1953.
Declared surplus 03 November 1954. Broken up.

Took part in flypast to mark opening of the Auckland Harbour Bridge on 30 May 1959.
Badly damaged in accident in Chatham Islands when hit rocks in Te Whanga Lagoon while taxying and sank in shallow water 04 November 1959.
Stripped of usable parts and written off books at Hobsonville on 09 December 1959.
First of the RNZAF Mk.5 Sunderlands to be written off due to damage.

With Maritime Operational Conversion Unit, Hobsonville 21 May 1956-17 October 1957.
This was the aircraft who's keel scraped along the runway during the official opening of Rongotai on 25 October 1959 after a downdraught forced the aircraft lower than intended.
The aircraft returned to Hobsonville where it was immediately beached for repairs.
Flew final RNZAF Sunderland service to Chatham Islands 22 March 1967.
Declared surplus to requirements on SR48/67 dated 03 May 1967 and sold by GSB tender to Australian Aircraft Sales in August of that year.
Scrapped at Hobsonville.

With Maritime Operational Conversion Unit, Hobsonville May 1955-25 June 1956.
Later served with No.5 Squadron.
SOC on SR.238/66 dated 06 February 1967 and sold to Australian Aircraft Sales.
Stripped of all parts and hulk given to Northland Coastguard. Towed to Whangarei and beached at Onerahi 11 July 1967 for use as headquarters.
Sold by tender in 1972 and broken up for scrap.

Ex RAF aircraft refurbished and BOC Hobsonville on 17 November 1953.
Served with No.5 Squadron with codes KN-A, KN-B, KN-Q, Q. Radio call sign ZMZGQ.
SOC 09 December 1966 and gifted to Museum of Transport and Technology, Auckland on 22 December 1966 in complete and airworthy condition.
Towed from Hobsonville to Meola Creek on 25 February 1967 and winched overland to MOTAT.
Currently on display at MOTAT in it's final RNZAF markings.
