Arrived at Auckland aboard "Port Alma" on 20 July 1938 and assembled at Hobsonville. BOC on 29 July 1938 and flown directly to Wigram on 04 September 1938. Sold to Mr. Rothwell from Woodbourne on 10 June 1947 on WARB release number 8627.
NZ251 Mk.1 24 L4557 Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. Type AS.42 Survey/Trainer version to NZ specifications. Arrived at Auckland aboard "Port Alma" on 20 July 1938 and assembled at Hobsonville. BOC on 29 July 1938 and flown directly to Wigram on 04 September 1938. Converted to instructional airframe INST20 with TTS, Wigram and later moved to Nelson. This airframe was later renumbered INST54.
NZ252 Mk.1 59 L4592 Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. Type AS.42 Survey/Trainer version to NZ specifications. Arrived at Auckland in October 1938. Assembled at Hobsonville and BOC on 26 October 1938. Flown to Wigram and allotted to No.1 SFTS. Crashed into Lake Ellesmere at 1435 hours on 28 August 1941. The aircraft stalled during a cross wind landing approach to the airstrip and plunged into the lake. LAC Ronald Brown and LAC Norman Marshall killed. Written off books at Wigram on 12 September 1941.
NZ253 Mk.1 60 L4593 Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. Type AS.42 Survey/Trainer version to NZ specifications. Arrived at Auckland on 24 November 1938. Assembled at Hobsonville and BOC on 24 November 1938. Flown to Wigram and allotted to No.1 SFTS. Converted to instructional airframe INST23 with TTS, Wigram. Later moved to Rongotai and then to Nelson before being converted to produce.
NZ254 Mk.1 77 L4610 Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. Type AS.43 Survey version to NZ specifications. Arrived at Auckland on 22 December 1938. Assembled at Hobsonville and BOC on 22 December 1938. Allotted to Hobsonville with the Survey Flight. Damaged in training accident at Wigram on 27 January 1944 when the tail wheel collapsed while being operated by No.1 SFTS. Written off books at Wigram on 03 May 1944 as reduced to spares. To ATC Christchurch as INST94.

Crashed at Wigram at 0310 hours on 31 January 1941. The aircraft lost height after an overshoot and dived into the ground about 2 miles from the airfield. LAC Allan McIver killed. Parts of this aircraft were possibly used in the construction of INST35 which was allotted to the TTS, Wigram.

Crashed near Kaituna at about 0915 hours on 22 July 1940. The aircraft flew into a hill after being caught in a thick bank of fog. Pilot Officer William Krogh, LAC Archibald Hull, LAC Herbert von Tunzelman and AC1 Albert Duffell killed. Written off books at Wigram.

NZ276 Mk.1 498 P2009 Mark I. Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. BOC with Unit No.1, Hobsonville on 04 May 1940 and assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot. Written off books at No.3 RD, Harewood on 22 September 1944 as reduced to spares and produce due deterioration.
NZ277 Mk.1 499 P2030 Mark I. Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. BOC with Unit No.1, Hobsonville on 04 May 1940 and assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot. To No.1 OTU, New Plymouth. Disappeared on a machine gunning exercise off the Taranaki coast on 23 October 1942. Extensive searches at the time failed to reveal any sign of the aircraft or it's crew. Pilot Officer Rodney Dandy, Sergeant Graham Martin, Sergeant Edward Dodson and Sergeant Douglas Martyn killed. The wreckage was discovered about 2000 feet up Mount Egmont on 17 January 1974 by a Forest Service hunter. It is believed that the aircraft flew into the valley in bad weather before crashing into the bush. The remains of the crew were recovered by RNZAF Iroquois. Parts of the aircraft were later recovered and are now on display at the Taranaki Aviation, Transport, and Technology Museum.
NZ278 Mk.1 500 P2031 Mark I. Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. BOC with Unit No.1, Hobsonville on 03 May 1940 and assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot. To No.1 SFTS, Wigram. Disappeared on navigation exercise from Wigram on 26 March 1942. Believed to have crashed into the sea while flying in low cloud and poor visibility. No trace of the aircraft or crew was ever found. LAC Verdun Godfrey, LAC Cecil Cook and LAC Donald Paterson missing presumed killed.
NZ279 Mk.1 501 P2032 Mark I. Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. BOC with Unit No.1, Hobsonville on 24 April 1940 and assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot. To No.1 SFTS, Wigram. Crashed at Akaroa at 1130 hours on 15 June 1940. The aircraft stalled and spun into the main street of the town whilst carrying out a steep turn. LAC Francis McFarlane and LAC John McFadyen killed. Parts of this aircraft were possibly used in the construction of INST35 which was allotted to the TTS, Wigram.
NZ280 Mk.1 502 P2033 Mark I. Built by Airspeed Ltd, Portsmouth, England. BOC with Unit No.1, Hobsonville on 04 May 1940 and assembled at No.1 Aircraft Depot. To No.1 SFTS, Wigram. Crashed in Gebbies Valley on 16 December 1941. The aircraft flew into heavy rain and low cloud shortly after takeoff and struck the top of a ridge before catching fire. Pilot Officer Alan Marshall, LAC Ronald Brooker, LAC Brian Fitzgerald, and LAC William Lindsay killed.

Wreckage and the memorial to the pilot are still extant on the western side of a ridge approximately 650 metres due south of the Kaiparoro trig.

Written off books at Ohakea on 26 April 1949.
