Probably remained in storage at Ohakea until sold.
Declared surplus on SR.4105 and sold by GSB tender number 4980/4981 dated 20 April 1953.
Sold to R. Coleman, Marton for 25 pounds mainly for fittings and stored on farm until June 1967.
Remains donated to MOTAT in 1967.

Restoration undertaken by museum volunteers.

Wing repaired and restored by staff at Air Force Museum as part of a deal in respect of a Vildebeest project. Wing reattached to fuselage 2006.

Recovered by MoTaT who passed it on to Olwyn Fenner as payment for his work on NZ2305.

Restoration commenced with Glyn Powell joining the team. Eventually Glyn took over the project, building the moulds at Te Atatu, as Mosquito Aircraft Restoration Ltd..
Restoration involved building a new fuselage and wings, utilising many parts from other aircraft.

Following Glyn's death, aircraft sold.

Aircraft moved to Ardmore for further work.

Restoration due to be completed by Avspecs, Ardmore for an American owner.

Suffered landing accident at Ohakea while being operated by the RAAF.
The port undercarriage failed to retract on takeoff and collapsed when the aircraft landed.
The aircraft was written off by the RAAF and BOC at Ohakea with RNZAF on 01 July 1947 at a cost of 50 pounds.
The intention was to use the aircraft for spares and it was never flown by the RNZAF.
Written off books at Ohakea on 19 August 1950 as reduced to spares and produce.
Airframe hours at the time of the accident were 170:30.

Although the aircraft was broken into parts for transport to Smith's farm it was later reassembled and stored under cover, after being treated with a preservative paint.

Following John Smith's death (August 2019), his family have lent the aircraft to Aviation Heritage Centre at Omaka for display.

Disassembly commenced 15 August 2020; wheeled out of shed, wing and undercarriage separated, then trucked to Omaka September 2020.

Aircraft reassembled, repainted (in 487 (NZ) colours, coded EG-D and original serial).

Restored fuselage and wings mated 24 January 2021.

Engines test run on stands, then refitted to aircraft.

Restoration undertaken under leadership of Al Marshall, involving JEM Aviation, SAFE Air and volunteers in Bill Reid's hangar.

Aircraft installed in Omaka Aviation Heritage centre 2 April 2021

Both engines ground run 8 November 2021.

Dismantled and moved by truck to Hayman's farm near Waimate.
Fuselage to T. Packer and Phillip Burns, who collected parts for a rebuild, including forward fuselage of NZ2324. Packer became sole owner and later donated the collection to the Air Force Museum along with parts from NZ2383.

After suspecting undercarriage damage from the rough surface the pilot attempted to abort the takeoff but the aircraft swung off the runway and caught fire.
The crew escaped but the aircraft was destroyed.

As a result of an airspeed indicator problem the pilot abandoned the takeoff.
The aircraft over ran the runway and collided with a tree.
The aircraft was later used as spares for other delivery flights.
The remains were finally sold for 23 pounds 4 shillings and 10 pence in July 1949.

Both aircraft were reported overdue in bad weather at 1235 but TE927 landed at Macrossan shortly after 1300.
The wreckage of the aircraft was discovered on Sydney Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria on 03 April.

The wreckage of the aircraft was discovered on Sydney Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria on 03 April.
Both RAF crew members Wing Commander B. Hoare and Flying Officer W. Colvin were killed in the accident.
