The aircraft crashed into the bush on a flight from Parparaumu to Ohakea.
LAC G. Stewart was able to walk out of the bush although injured and the aircraft was later burnt by an RNZAF ground party.
Recovered by a search party on 03 April 1971.
The retrievable parts of the wreckage were recovered by Iroquois NZ3813 on 04 May 1972 and transported to Auckland by Bristol Freighter NZ5909 on 13 June 1972 for restoration at MOTAT.
Currently with the Classic Aircraft Collection who hope to restore it to flying condition.
