Serial R.A.F. c/n Type. Aircraft history
NZ631 F.1133 ? Mk.IIIM Arrived in Auckland aboard "Port Melbourne" on 20 September 1929 and assembled as a landplane at Hobsonville.
Delivered to NZPAF and operated with the fuselage serial number F.1133.
First flown in December 1929 and flown at regular intervals between 1931 and 1933.
Still flying up until late 1936.
Re-numbered as NZ631 in 1939 but never carried this serial number.
Converted to instructional airframe with TTS Hobsonville and renumbered INST2 in 1940.
Believed to have been broken up at Hobsonville during later stages of World War 2.
NZ632 F.1134 ? Mk.IIIM Arrived in Auckland aboard "Port Melbourne" on 20 September 1929 and assembled as a landplane at Hobsonville.
Delivered to NZPAF and operated with the fuselage serial number F.1134.
Fitted with floats on 18 July 1930.
Crashed in the Waitemata Harbour off Birkdale at 1115 on 29 October 1930 when it struck the water during a high speed run.
The 3 occupants were unhurt and were rescued by the Cutty Sark flying boat which was flying behind the Fairey.
Salvaged the following day and although the aircraft was relatively undamaged it was never repaired.
Re-numbered as NZ632 in 1939 but never carried this serial number.
NZ631 S.1805 F.1542 Mk.IIIB Acquired in 1933 as replacement for crashed F.1134 and arrived on board the "Northumberland" in mid June of that year.
Operated with the old Fleet Air Arm fuselage serial number S1805.
Flown regularly during 1934 and 1935 on both wheels and floats and was on show at the RNZAF display at Rongotai in June 1938.
Re-numbered as NZ631 in 1939 but never carried this serial number.
Converted to instructional airframe INST18 with TTS Hobsonville in 1939.
Believed to have been broken up at Hobsonville during later stages of World War 2.
