'This officer left the
Aerodrome at Deir-el-Belah on 25.6.1917
escorting a reconnaissance machine and
flying a B.E 12a.
The reconnaissance was attacked by two
hostile scouts and during the engagement
2nd/Lieutenant Brasell's machine was
observed to go down in a steady spiral
behind the Enemy's lines. On 26.6.17 a
hostile Aeroplane dropped a message on the
Aerodrome at Deir-el-Belah stating that
2nd/Lieutenant Brasell had been shot down on
the 25.06.17 during an air battle, that he
had been hit in the head, and had died
immediately after landing his machine behind
the Enemy's lines. It was also stated that
he had been buried with Military honors that
day.'
