To 1 APU 04/07/45. Damaged when tail wheel retracted during landing on 14/12/48. SOC 31/03/53 Flown from Tocumwal to Emu, South Australia to be used in atomic bomb tests of 10/53. Identified in reports as AS.6. Only suffered minor damage. It and 5 others were sold 05/67 by tender to a syndicate of Peter Hookway, Stan Booker and Tony Schwerdt. Repaired insitu and flown out by Tony Schwerdt to Cooper Pedy on 31/10/67. Later flown to Parafield. Unable to gain civil registration in Australia it was exported to USA in 1969. Flew again 1980 as N7773. Currently airworthy as N51WB.

This was in preparation for the upcoming London to Christchurch air race to be held 10/53. Facing competition from jet powered aircraft such as the winning Canberra he withdrew his entry 31/05/54 sold to Arnold Glass. The aircraft's "Johny Zero" name came from a racehorse that provided the winning to fund the purchase. 1954 in the REDex Round Australia Air Trial but withdrawing due to Glass considering the handicap system unfare 1959 used for target towing bt Fawcett Aviation 24/02/61 cancelled from Australian register 1961 Registered G-ARKD Used by British racing car driver Ron Flockhart to attempt a Sydney to London speed record, but overheated in Athens. It later suffered a cockpit fire. 21/11/61 cancelled from British register and was abandoned at Athens c1980 reported that the fuselage was in a yard behind the "OMEGA" school (in Athens?) 06/2012 Mustang G-ARKD was re-registerd to Classic Flying Machine Collection Ltd at Dereham Norfolk UK Ron Flockhart later purchased A68-113 for a second attempt but was killed after crashing in the Dandenong Ranges

A68-89 suffered a shattered airscrew and spun down. Pilot F/Lt. Graham Jack Edwards killed after trying to bale out at 2000ft. He possibly struck part of the airframe on exit and his parachute canopy separated from its shroud lines. A68-89 exploded on impact within view of Fairbairn air base leaving a large crater. Written off.

Restored at Essendon, Vic. flying again as VH-BOB 26/02/76. Has a full CofA and can carry paying passengers. On 05/04/2008 suffered a wheels up landing at Point Cook and hasn't flown since. Though not significantly damaged, the opportunity was taken to put the aircraft through its first ever full rebuild, naturally taking longer than a straight repair would have done. It is being repaired to airworthiness.

By ship to Vancouver and rebuilt as a 4 seater with a CF100 canopy. Registered in the USA as N64824. Was to be registered N5789, but not taken up. It did fly with this un-authorised registration however. The identity was transferred to an ex TNI-AU aircraft and the aircraft rebuilt using other airframe parts. Still flown with the markings 413678 and named 'Million Dollar Baby'. The owner is reported to have said that this new aircraft has no parts from the original A68-175. If any of A68-175 remains it flies as N51DT "Slender, Tender, Tall"

Sold to Germany in 2010 registered D-FBBD. 10/07/2011 at the Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford, UK it was involved in a mid-air collision with a Douglas Skyraider. Pilot bailed out and landed unharmed but aircraft destroyed.
