A51-2 339-23 B-3175 376 Intended for NEI use but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
4/06/42  Delivered to 1 AD;
Served with 1 PRU 17/06/42 to 08/07/42,
Armour plate and guns removed and had 3 F24 Focal cameras and a auxiliary tank installed at 1 PRU;
08/07/42 Crashed 3 miles south of Tallarook and 1.5 miles east of the Hume Highway Vic killing F/L Richard Raymond Henry Winter AFC;
20/07/42 Converted to components.
A51-3 339-23 B-3177 378 Intended for NEI use but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
13/06/42 it was delivered to 1 AD;
Served with 1 PRU 04/06/42 to 09/06/43,
Armour
plate and guns removed and had 3 F24 Focal cameras and a auxiliary tank installed at 1 PRU;
11/6/43 it was flown by F/L W H S Talberg to 24 Sqn where it Served till 24/06/43;
24/06/43 Returned to he USAAF 5th Air Force and scrapped at Eagle Farm Brisbane Qld.
A51-4 339-23 B-3184 385 Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered to 1 AD 15/06/42;
Served with 1 PRU 13/06/42 to 16/06/42,
Armour
plate and guns removed and had 3 F24 Focal cameras and a auxiliary tank installed at 1 PRU;
Crashed 16/06/42, Laverton Vic; converted to components.
A51-5 339-23 B-3185 387 Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered to 1 AD 06/06/42;
Served with 1 PRU from 15/06/42 to 25/09/42,
Armour
plate and guns removed and had 3 F24 Focal cameras and a auxiliary tank installed at 1 PRU;
25/09/42 at 17:30 hrs it crashed at Derby WA killing Sgt J Austin (404699) and was written off.

Buffaloes A51-10 and 5

A51-6 339-23 B-3186 386 Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered to
1 AD 06/06/42;
Around June/July 1942 it was used in testing with a CAC Boomerang (A46-1) and was loaded to about 5,500lb to approximate the wing loading of a Zeke and found though to be slower than the Boomerang was able to out manoeuvre it and was better in diving and zooming and was able to gain the initiative in the combat and was flown by either S/L Alan Rawlinson or F/L Wilfred JArthur;
Served with 1 PRU from 15/06/42 to 29/10/42,
Armour
plate and guns removed and had 3 F24 Focal cameras and a auxiliary tank installed at 1 PRU;  
29/10/42 lost in enemy air raid when bombed on the ground at Hughes airstrip near Darwin NT.
A51-7 339-23 B-3172 373 Tail code was 301;
Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered 14/08/42;
Served with 25 Sqn RAAF 14/08/42 to 10/02/43;
Served with 85 Sqn 25/02/43 to 13/11/43.
Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force, 13/11/43.
Scrapped at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane Qld.
A51-8 339-23 B-3181 382 Tail code was 302;
Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered 14/08/42;
Served with 25 Sqn RAAF 14/08/42 to 10/02/43.
Taxing accident 14/08/42.
Struck Bird in flight, landed with large dent in starboard wing 14/12/42;
Served with 85 Sqn 25/02/43 to 25/06/43.
Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force, 19/10/43.
Scrapped at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane Qld.
A51-9 339-23 B-3176 377 Tail code was 305;
Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
14/8/42 Delivered to the RAAF,
Served with 25 Sqn RAAF from then until 10/2/43 but was unserviceable most of that time;
25/2/43 Received by 85 Sqn at Guildford WA from 25 Sqn;
16/10/43 It sustained damage after undercarriage collapsed during a landing at Pearce WA;
18/10/43 Issued to 1 AD;
14/1/44 Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force and believed sent to their Fighter Command at Charters Towers Qld;
Eventually scrapped at Eagle Farm Qld.
A51-10 339-23 B-3178 379 Tail code was 307;
Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF;
Delivered 14/08/42;
Served with 25 Sqn RAAF 14/08/42 to 30/01/43;
Served with 85 Sqn 25/05/43 to 19/06/43;
Served with 24 Sqn 23/06/43 to 09/07/43.
Issued to Colonel Young USAAF 09/07/43 and returned to USAAF 5th Air Force.
Scrapped at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane Qld.

Taxying accident after landing, damaged starboard elevator 15/09/42.
Damaged nose of aircraft, airframe, wing tip prop and starboard aileron during takeoff accident 02/02/43;
Served with 85 Sqn 25/02/43 to 29/04/43.
Went to 17 RSU for storage before transfer to the USAAF 30/4/43.
On 21/5/43 it was allotted to 24 Sqn but this was cancelled on 25/6/43.
Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force, 08/07/43.
Scrapped at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane Qld around 6/11/43.

Served with 24 Sqn 23/06/43 to 25/06/43;
Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force, 25/06/43 and scrapped at Eagle Farm, Brisbane Qld.

Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF.
Left behind at Williamstown Airfield Vic as a wreck by the USAAC, then taken up by RAAF and rebuilt.
Used by the RAAF Gunnery Training School.
Returned to USAAF 5th Air Force, 05/11/43.
Scrapped at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane QLD.
A51-17 339-23 B-3182 383 Tail code was 306;
Intended for NEI use, but diverted to Australia and initially Served with the USAAF.
